The problem I found with religion is that we label ourselves. We let these labels define what we believe and who we are. My question is why do we need a label, can we be spiritual beings without it?
I was raised as a Baptist. We believed in one God, Jesus and everything the bible said. I was always the one in Sunday school casting doubts among the lessons, which was usually frowned upon. I was, and still am, curious by nature about religion.
Fast forward to my early twenties. I read an article on Wiccans. It was like stepping into the light, my entire spiritual world changed that day. I could see there was more to religion than I had been. I quickly started researching Wiccans and Witchcraft. I loved that there was multiple Gods and Goddesses. I loved crystal magic, candle magic, aromatherapy and all things metaphysical. For years, I considered myself to be Wiccan but I couldn’t keep up with the rituals. Honestly, it was hard work to follow the Wiccan rituals with 3 small children and all the responsibilities I had; there was no spare time for it. But that didn’t stop me; I had a label to stick with. It was at least 10 yrs later that I realized I wasn’t Wiccan or a witch.
I felt a little lost after that, I no longer had a label but was desperately searching for one. By this time, I had started Simply Magical Jewelry. I was vending at metaphysical expos every weekend and meeting wonderful people. These encounters allowed me to grow mentally and spiritually.
Today, I can say with absolute certainly, I DO NOT NEED A LABEL! I believe in Spirit, my guides and angels. I believe there are many gods and goddess we can call on. I believe that both crystal power works and burning candles with intentions. I believe in reincarnation and being old souls. I believe the best place to worship is in nature and taking time to enjoy it. I have stepped into the light and have become more spiritual than I ever was.
